🐟 The Fish Oil Thing. Are You Doing It Right?

plus: Is Your Dog Actually Chasing a High, Not a Ball? Science confirms.
Hello Reader,

The NFL just came back, which means millions of Americans are once again pretending to understand analytics while yelling at a television. My dog Biscuit, who is eleven and has opinions about where on the couch you're allowed to sit, watched approximately four minutes of the season opener before sighing and leaving the room. He has never been more relatable.

He's also been moving like a rusty gate hinge lately. Slower getting up. Deliberate on the stairs. Still furious about squirrels, just... strategically furious. From a seated position.

Turns out omega-3s can actually help with both the stiffness and the brain fog. We looked into it.

🤔 Did You Know?

Did you know that the Basenji is known as the “barkless dog”? Instead of barking, they produce a unique yodel-like sound called a “baroo.” It’s a mix between a howl and a laugh , and completely unique to the breed.

Is Your Dog Actually Chasing a High, Not a Ball? Science confirms.

🍪 SNACKTIME
Baked Blueberry Treats for Dogs

Golden-edged blueberry bites that crisp up as they cool. This baked treat recipe from Angela Coleby uses banana and oats for a dairy-free snack your dog will notice before it leaves the pan.

📝 Ingredients

  • banana
  • blueberries
  • egg
  • rolled oats
  • cinnamon

=> Get the full recipe here

❤️ Why I love this recipe...

❝Banana does the binding work here, which means no butter, no dairy, and no ingredients that feel out of place in a dog's bowl. One thing worth keeping in mind: cinnamon is safe for dogs in small amounts, but stick to the teaspoon called for and don't increase it, as larger quantities can cause irritation or affect blood sugar over time. ❞
